                                        GERMAN NAVAL FORCES--World War II

|        The
German High Command during the early years of World War II distributed photos
to the nation showing successes of their navy against the Allies on the high
seas.  Many of the photos were confiscated
and destroyed by the Allies during the occupation.  Following are some that survived, with details of battles and
the sailors and their officers who were involved in the conflicts.  Immediately apparent are the young ages of
the sailors versus the older officers, which is common when nations engage in
war.  The youth are always required to
take oaths of allegiance and must vent destruction on enemies that they may
  bear no animosity against.  History
repeatedly shows where enemies frequently become allies in future wars as
  political aspirations vary.  It is
fitting that the service of all those caught up in the conflicts be
accessible when records are available. |
